Buck Knives traces its history back over 100 years to 1902 when Hoyt Buck first began making blades with a unique tempering process that allowed the blade to hold an edge much longer than other knives. By using worn out file blades as the raw material for their knives, the Buck family made high quality, sharp and long lasting knives that grew in popularity. During World War II Buck Knives contributed to the war effort by supplying our soldiers with knives so dependable they could bet their lives on them.

Over the years the Buck Knives brand grew in stature; however their breakout year came in 1963 when Buck Knives introduced the now famous Buck 110 Folder. This folding lockback took the knife industry by storm and spawned so many imitations that any knife of its general size and shape became known as a "Buck Knife". This original Buck 110 is still available today, as well as many other styles Buck has introduced since then.
